This year’s event in Minneapolis from June 24-27 was no different!

The Hawai‘i chapter had seven members attending and two went home with national prizes. The Community Impact award for a local newsroom went to Hawai‘i’s Civil Beat. Blaze Lovell accepted on behalf of the organization.
Meanwhile AsAm News’ Yiming Fu won for Excellence in Pacific Islander reporting for his story, “Lahaina’s Micronesians facing unique fire recovery hurdles.”

Congratulations to you both! Next year the national convention will be in July in San Francisco. We hope you can attend!
